KontrolFreek Gaming Lights

Image
I’ve always assumed gaming lights for your TV or desk space were fairly expensive, and if you want to have the latest and greatest, which can be hooked up to your smart speakers and phone, and change to correspond to what you are playing or watching, it can get really expensive really quickly. But for a basic package, I found many affordable options, the best so far being those from KontrolFreek. For only 24.99, players can get about 9 feet of gaming lights for their work space or TV area – if 9 feet isn’t enough, the ease of clicking multiple strands together will make adding a second or third package of lights to your setup a breeze. And that was what I liked the most about the lights. Getting them out of the package and hooked up was less than 5 minutes. Simply pull the adhesive off the back of the strand, determine where you want them to go, and stick’em on! Received a fantastic review package from our friends at @KontrolFreek ! Look out for some pic and reviews soon! pic...

SuperMash Review

Image
SuperMash isn’t Super Mario Maker 2. Its not even an indie game like the recently released LevelHead. You do not create video games. Instead, you choose two genres, say RPG and platformer, and they are randomly mashed together to create mini-games. Then you can play these mini-games and if you want, you can share what you found (via a code) or move on to play another mini-game. None of the games in SuperMash are too long. Many of them have time limits. Personally, I’m not a fan of the time limits. Some people will like the challenge and others will wish they could have a more laid back experience. Thankfully not all the games have time limits. Usually they do have a certain challenge that you have to beat and once you beat that, the game is over. There are some pretty hard games in there but there are many games that are super easy. Outside of the mashing, the player will be in a game store where their be given challenges: give me a hard platformer or a shooter jrpg, stuff li...

Quarantine Gaming - Telling Lies Impressions

Image
Telling Lies is a narrative video game developed by Sam Barlow and Furious Bee and published by Annapurna Interactive. As with Barlow’s previous title, Her Story, the game uses live action full-motion video of four people (played by Logan Marshall-Green, Alexandra Shipp, Kerry Bishé, and Angela Sarafyan) as part of video calls made between them, and the player will need to use tools provided from the game to piece together events and what statements may be lies to determine the overall mystery.   Telling Lies is a tough game to describe, while similar to the interactive movies I’ve reviewed recently, this one is uniquely different. Instead of experiencing the story from beginning to end, it is chopped up and you have to uncover and piece together the events that unfold over two years during this game. The game begins with your character booting up a hard drive to a computer. That hard drive contains a database of...

Another Batter Switched In: A Look At RBI Baseball 2017 for Nintendo Switch

Image
RBI Baseball 2017 is a baseball game pure and simple. It has three different modes and a load of teams and teammates to pick from. As someone who is not a baseball fan, I didn’t see much difference between the three modes. Each of the modes play the same and look the same. Perhaps one mode is longer than the other, I’m not sure because, to be honest, I suck at this game. I never played a full round of baseball during my time with RBI Baseball. The thing about this game is that its all about timing, whether you are the pitcher or the batter. My timing completely sucked with both. The other team always seemed to do as well as me or get ahead in the score. It wasn’t that the controls of this game are bad, they are not, its just that I could never get the timing down for the pitches or when I was at bat. One thing I did not like about this game at all was that the camera would stay on the batter no matter if you were the pitcher or the batter. That seemed confusing ...

More Thoughts From Me #162: The Case of the Missing Sony E3 Conference

Image
Every year at E3: Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo show off games. Sure, you have Ubisoft and EA and some other companies, but the big three are always the most anticipated of E3. Not this year. This year Sony won’t be at E3 (neither will EA). This year Microsoft and Nintendo will be the main attractions. Why is Sony sitting out this E3? I’ve heard some people say that they think Sony won’t be at E3 this year because this will be a light year for the PS4. The theory is that the Playstation 4 is on its way out and the Playstation 5 is next up. Basically, Sony isn’t at E3 this year because the PS5 isn’t ready to be shown and they don’t have much else to show. Remember last year’s conference? Maybe they don’t want a repeat of last year… This is a “good” theory, but I’m hoping that these people are as wrong as those claiming that you can win a fortune with an online casino bonus . Sony is bringing out the Last of Us 2 this year, Days Gone, Dreams, and other games. Th...
